The Q-DS-2000 ST read/write/screen/touch unit is a highly innovative access reader with a modular architecture, exceptionally high connectivity, and powerful electronics. Thanks to its versatile communication interfaces, the device can be used as a classic access reader with extensive user guidance as well as an AI-supported control unit. In addition to the 32-bit microprocessor, the device features a second computer core with a RISC 5 AI 400 MHz processor. This allows applications such as facial recognition and QR code reading, e.g., for visitor tickets etc., to be executed directly on the unit.
The system combines RFID technology, NFC communication, QR code recognition, biometrics, and wired and wireless network interfaces in one compact device. In addition to authenticating identity media, the device also enables the secure integration of mobile identities and digital access solutions.
The heart of the system consists of two powerful 32-bit processors, multiple communication interfaces, and a Hardware Secure Element for secure cryptographic operations and key management. An integrated motion sensor additionally enables reliable tamper and removal detection.
Due to its extensive communication capabilities, the Q-DS-2000 can also function as a gateway. In this architecture, the reader is connected to a door controller via RS-485 or LAN and simultaneously establishes a connection to other readers or peripheral devices via wireless technologies such as BLE, WLAN, or LTE. This allows for the implementation of decentralized and scalable access structures without the need to install additional gateways or controllers. The integrated RFID technology supports numerous modern transponder technologies and enables use in both existing and new access infrastructures.
